WHAT TO EXPECT IN COURT
[Back]

The court process can be intimidating and confusing for anyone. Often, victims of property crimes have never had contact with the criminal justice process before. They may have lots of questions about what to expect. For most cases, unless you witnessed the actual theft or damage of your property, you will mainly be asked your name, the value of the property, the last time you saw it, when you noticed it missing, and if you gave anyone permission to take or use it.

The Victim-Witness Assistance Program can help prepare you for court. They are also here to help you get information and answer questions about your case throughout the Criminal Justice Process.
