VICTIMS' RIGHTS HISTORY

2002     The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Sponsors a series of regional roundtables to hear first-
hand from victims and survivors about their experiences with the criminal and juvenile
            justice systems.

OVC, along with Justice Solutions, Parents of Murdered Children (POMC) and the Victims'
Assistance Legal Organization (VALOR), sponsor a national public awareness campaign to
promote the scope and availability of victims' rights and services nationwide.

All 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam have
established crime victim compensation programs to provide financial assistance to crime
            victims.
