SIGNS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
[Back] The pattern of abusive behaviors may include
physical
abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, threats and
intimidation, isolation, and even the use of children or pets to control
a partner.
- Have you ever been frightened of your partner’s temper,
afraid to disagree, or afraid to break up?
- Have you ever been called
insulting names, continuously criticized, or accused of being a bad
parent?
- Have you ever been held against your
will?
- Have you ever been denied basic
rights, not allowed to
contact family or friends, use the phone or car, seek medical attention,
or get a
job?
- Have you ever been forced into any type of unwanted sexual
activity?
- Have you ever been hit, slapped, choked, pushed, pinched or
kicked?
- Have you ever been threatened that you or a family member would
be harmed or killed?
