General Election Information

The next General Election will be held Tuesday, November
4, 2008. Appearing on the ballot will be President and Vice President,
Member of the U.S. Senate, and Member U.S. House of Representatives (1st
Congressional District)
The polls will be
open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at all York County polling places.

Voter
Registration Deadline: Monday, October
6, 2008 by 5:00 p.m.
If you are already registered
and have not moved, you do not need to re-register.
However, if you are currently registered and have moved, you must update
your registration record by submitting a change of address or re-register by the registration deadline.
If mailed, the application must be postmarked no later than the deadline.
If the application is delivered in person-either by the applicant or a third
party- the application must be received by the deadline.

Absentee Voting Deadlines:
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 if applying by mail and Saturday, November
1, 2008, if voting an absentee ballot in person.
If you are away from your precinct on Election Day, or unable to go to the
polls because of illness or disability, you may vote an absentee
ballot. Ballots should be available approximately 45 days prior to the
election. Absentee ballots can be voted in person in the office of the
General Registrar, 224 Ballard Street, Admin. Center, Yorktown during this
45 day period. In addition, absentee voting in person will be conducted
Saturdays, October 25 and
November 1, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
