MILITARY AND CITIZENS RESIDING OVERSEAS

Active duty military and their dependents, as well as citizens residing overseas, may apply for voter registration and/or absentee ballots by using a Federal Post Card application (FPCA).  The FPCA allows for all ballots that the voter is eligible to receive to be mailed to the voter through two federal elections.  This application is also available on our website under Absentee Voting.  We link to the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) site.
Try:
www.fvap.gov to complete and download your application.

Please be certain to read the information provided for Virginia requirements before completing the FPCA and note deadlines.  If you are a citizen temporarily overseas due to employment
(not active duty military), be certain to include your employer's name and address and your last date of residency at your York County address ( if you have given up your York County residence ) in Block 6.  If you are active duty military ( or dependent ), be certain to include your branch of service and grade/rank in Block 6.  The application can be mailed, faxed, or sent as an attachment to an email.  If you desire that the  ballot be emailed to you, be certain to include that information on your FPCA ( write: " I request my ballot be emailed to me " and provide your email address in Block 2j).  If faxed or emailed, the original application must follow by mail.

Absentee ballots should be available 45 days prior to the general election.
