GENERAL ELECTION

A General Election will be held on
Tuesday, November 3, 2009,
to elect a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and
members of the
House of Delegates for the 91st and 96th districts.
The polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at all York
County polling places.

Queens Lake, Yorktown, Waller Mill,
Magruder, Coventry, Kiln Creek, Edgehill,
Harwoods Mill, Tabb and Bethel precincts
that are in the 96th House of Delegates district.

are in the 91st House of Delegates district.

Voter Registration Deadline: Monday,
October 5, 2009.
The
Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered in
the precinct in which you live in order to be qualified to
vote. The deadline to register to vote to be eligible for
the November 3, 2009, General election is October 5, 2009.
Registered voters who need to change their address may
do so by completing, signing, and submitting a voter
registration application or their voter card. The deadline to
change registration information prior to the November 3, 2009,
General election is October 5, 2009. If a registered voter's
address has changed, he or she should update their address to
ensure they remain qualified to vote.
Any qualified resident of Virginia may apply for voter
registration or update his or her registration information at
the places and times listed below.

applications for absentee voting, and sample ballots will be
made available at the registration sites listed above and on the
Registrar’s website at www.yorkcounty.gov/voting or by
calling the Registrar’s Office at 757-890-3440 (hearing
impaired:

The law permits
emergency absentee voting in certain, limited circumstances
until 2 pm on
