Program Requests
The centerpiece of
The Explorer Channel is NASA television, carried live from satellite. In
addition, York County departments, school division departments and
schools, as well as organizations affiliated with York County government
or the school division can request programming for broadcast. The programming is limited to teleconferences and training materials.
As a service, Video Services has a satellite receiver available to
downlink teleconferences and other training programs.
A two day notice is required. Emergency requests,
such public safety emergencies, will be honored. The form requires
approval from a department head or school principal. Satellite programming
requires the inclusion of transponder coordinates, test feed time and a
contact person for the organization providing the uplink. The requesting
organization assumes all responsibility for securing the rights to
rebroadcast any programming that they request. Taped programming requires
permission in writing from the program license holder or producer before
it can be broadcast. In addition, requesting organizations
are advised that the programming will be seen by the general public. Video
Services does not assume any responsibility for images or content that the
general public may find offensive.
