This year, the 2003 Williamsburg
Area Military Familiarization and Training Tour brought 45 MWR (Morale,
Welfare and Recreation) and ITT (Information Tickets and Tours) office
managers from military installations across the United States to Virginia's
Historic Triangle, October 2-5. For several packed filled days, the
participants visited Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. The event is in
it's 4th year and is a cooperative effort that includes local tourism
industry attractions and sites. During the weekend, participants visited
Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Historic Jamestowne, Jamestown
Settlement, Yorktown Moonlight & Mysteries Tour, Yorktown Battlefield and
Visitor Center, Yorktown Victory Center, Go-Karts Plus and the Williamsburg
Pottery. The host hotel properties were the Sheraton Four Points and the
Best Western Patrick Henry Inn. One of the many highlights during their
visit to Yorktown this year was a trolley tour around town and lunch at
Yorktown's newest restaurant, Carrot Tree in the Cole Digges House.
