CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES
The department offers a wide variety of services
to meet special needs. These may include:
- Adult services
- Chore, companion, adult day care, and homemaker services help aged and disabled individuals remain in their own homes
rather than move to institutions.
- Adult
Protective Services - These services protect vulnerable adults from abuse,
neglect, or exploitation.
- Adoption Services - Efforts are made to bring
adoptable children together with approved families
- Child Protective Services
- Reports of child
abuse and neglect are investigated. Services are provided to prevent child abuse and
neglect.

Court Services - assessments for child
custody and/or visitation by court order only. Additionally, mediation
services are provided for child custody and/or visitation disputes.
- Day Care - Day care is
subsidized so parents can
work or train for employment.
- Emergency Assistance - Services to provide for
temporary emergency needs such as food, rent or utilities.
- Employment Services - Services provided to help
those receiving public assistance become employed and self-sufficient.

Family Assessment &
Preservation Services - Provides family assessment and preservation services
to at risk families.
- Foster Care - Temporary care is arranged for
children who cannot be in their own homes.
Volunteer Services - Volunteers assist with
direct, indirect, and advisory services to staff and the people requesting help. |
