Description |
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports & assists clients, individually &
in groups, utilizing available resources to meet their personal,
social, health, & economic needs & to help them develop their own
capabilities. Provides guidance to clients seeking alternative
solutions to specific problems, such as child care, management of
finances, housing, health needs, education, vocational training &
employment. . Locates, develops & coordinates community resources.
Educates public on needs & problems of customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES: Knowledge of social work
principles & practices; ability to exchange information orally with
clients, co-workers, & staff members of other agencies; ability to
make & implement case decisions; ability to assess an individual's
and/or family's strengths & needs; knowledge of social, economic, &
health problems that face individuals, groups & communities; ability
to respond to the client's emotions; ability to plan & manage, with
supervision, own work activities; ability to write; & ability to
interpret laws, policies & regulations.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: In order to be evaluated for vacancies in the
Service Program/Service Program Supervision classification series,
applicants must: (1) Possess a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in
the Human Services field; or (2) Possess a minimum of a baccalaureate
degree in any field accompanied by a minimum of two (2) years of
appropriate & related experience in a Human Services related area.
This position conducts Child Protective Services investigations. On
call CPS every 4-6 weeks. Provide emergency shelter operations either
as a participant or support team when needed. On the State application
form, provide information which clearly indicates that you meet the
special requirement(s).
Also, applicants must: Be willing to work outside of normal working
hours, which may include being on-call for emergencies twenty-four
hours a day, including weekends. |
