Some of his goals for the York
County Sheriff’s Office are 1) Establish deep
public trust and support with the citizens of York and Poquoson;
2) Improve
Department morale and productivity by stressing professionalism, setting
high standards for initial employment and promotions through testing,
education, and training;
3) Have the Sheriff’s
Office become Accredited through the Va. Professional Law Enforcement
Standards Commission;
4) Reduce drugs in
our community by strict and aggressive enforcement of the drug laws and by
expanding the DARE Program to include the 7th grade and High School
students;
5) Appoint and
train a full-time Crime Prevention Officer to serve both the businessman and
homeowner;
6) Equip patrol
vehicles with laptop computers for criminal checks, dispatching, and report
writing.
7) Develop a positive,
cooperative working relationship with local, state, and federal agencies.
