Request for Vehicle Registration
and Tax Return of Tangible Personal Property

Using this form, you may request to register your vehicle for Personal Property Taxation. Once we verify the information with DMV, our office will notify you via e-mail that a Vehicle Registration Application and Tax Return of Tangible Personal Property form will be mailed to you. Upon receipt, you must sign, date and return the form. You have 60 days from the date you purchase your vehicle or move into York County to register for Personal Property Tax. You may either visit our office or mail the form to POB 190, Yorktown, VA 23690.


In order that your personal property tax liability, if any, can be determined, a Vehicle Registration Application/Tax Return must be submitted, regardless if the vehicle is inoperable.

IMPORTANT:

You cannot register your vehicle over the internet. You must mail the form, or come in person to the Commissioner of the Revenue's Office, Finance Building, 120 Alexander Hamilton Blvd., Yorktown.
