VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEES.
Effective for Tax Year 2008, the following changes have been made regarding
payment of the annual
Vehicle Registration Fees: The date for payment
of the vehicle registration fee has been changed from February 15 to June 5,
combining the payment of the vehicle registration fee with the billing and
payment of the first half of the
Personal Property Tax.

EXTENSION - YORK COUNTY.
Virginia Cooperative
Extension provides
educational programs conducted in workplaces, schools, and communities of
Virginians. Research based information from Virginia Tech and Virginia State
University is used by Extension Agents and their volunteers to teach people
innovative ways to solve problems. This office provides information,
educational programs, and assistance with agriculture, horticulture, family
and consumer sciences, and 4-H clubs and programs.

VOTER REGISTRAR.
The Voter Registrar is appointed by an Electoral Board
that is, in turn, appointed by a majority of the Circuit Court judges for
the judicial circuit for the County. The
Registrar's
Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

NOTE:
Citizens who register by mail and are first time voters in Virginia may
be required to vote in person on Election Day or in person absentee and

VOTING.
To ensure that they are able to vote, qualified citizens
should be registered to vote in the precinct in which they reside. If
the otherwise-qualified citizen is not registered in the precinct in which
he or she resides, it is possible that the person will not be able to vote.
York County residents who will be 18 years of age on or before the date of
the next General Election in York County may register and vote in any
election held prior to that General Election. As required by state
law, registration is closed during the twenty-eight days before a primary or general election.
