EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
(E-911). Responsible for the operation of the County's Emergency Communications
"9-1-1" Center; answering all calls for assistance and emergency dispatching of
the appropriate personnel and/or equipment for the Sheriff's Office and Department of Fire
& Life Safety; monitoring the County's fire and intrusion alarm systems; and
coordinating the acquisition, installation, integration and maintenance of the County's
two-way radio, paging and cellular communications systems. The division is also
responsible for providing technical support work for radio networks for various County
departments and agencies.

EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT. Coordinates with all County
departments, agencies, other jurisdictions and state agencies to establish and maintain an
integrated and comprehensive system to alleviate the effects of a significant emergency or
disaster that threatens the property, health and safety of County residents. This office
maintains the County's Emergency Operations Center in a constant state of readiness and
develops, continually updates, trains, exercises and implements the County's all hazard
Emergency Operations Plan. The office is also responsible for providing public awareness
programs on the efficient and effective preparation for, response to, and recovery from
the multiple crisis situations that occur during a disaster.
