DECALS.
County decals are no longer required to be displayed on
vehicles of York County residents, however, vehicle registration fees must
still be paid. (See
AUTOMOBILES).
DEEDS AND RECORDS.
Deeds and other official documents are recorded and filed for a fee by the

DEVELOPMENT &
COMPLIANCE. Responsible for the regulation of land use and development activities
and the elimination of property-related nuisances within the County. This is accomplished
through the administration and enforcement of the County's Zoning and Subdivision
Ordinances and various sections of the County Code pertaining to property-related
nuisances.

DRAINAGE & MOSQUITO
CONTROL. Responsible for the abatement of the
mosquito infestation by maintaining County drainage easements every six
months, along with as needed biological and chemical applications to prevent
them from becoming a public nuisance and spreading serious human disease.
Other significant responsibilities include conducting pest control in County
buildings. A division of the Department of Environmental &

DRAINAGE PROBLEMS. Call the Virginia Department of
Transportation (VDOT) for problems concerning roadside drainage that include roadside
ditches, their connecting easement right of way outfall drainageways that
generally carry water from the roadside and all associated culverts.
