ADULT SERVICES.
Services are provided to protect adults aged 60 and older
and incapacitated adults age 18 years of age or older from abuse, neglect,
and exploitation regardless of income or resources. These services include:
The receipt and investigation of reports that an adult is being abused,
neglected or exploited or at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation, the
provision of a variety of health care options, social and legal services to
prevent or stop the mistreatment, and the potential to intervene and provide

ANIMALS. Both dogs and cats must have rabies
inoculations. Cats are not required to have licenses. Dogs must have a current license
issued annually by the
Treasurer for $5. Deadline is December 31.

allowed to roam free and must be on the owner's property
or under the owner's control at all times. Dogs must be leashed on public
property. Dead animals in the street or ditch will be removed by the Virginia Department
of Transportation (VDOT).

The keeping of five (5) or more
dogs for the purpose of showing or hunting or as household pets constitutes
operation of a private kennel, which is only permitted in certain areas of
the County and under certain circumstances set forth in the York County
Zoning Ordinance. If you need to request licenses for five (5) or more dogs,

Development and Compliance before purchasing.

submitted to the
Treasurer's Office. Kennel tags can be obtained in the
following increments (note: the $5 individual fee is waived in lieu of
purchasing a kennel tag): 1 to 10 dogs - $15; 11 to 20 dogs - $20; 21 to 30
dogs - $25; 31 to 40 dogs - $30; 41 to 50 dogs - $35.

Attorney represents the state, County and Poquoson in criminal cases,
oversees the Victim-Witness Assistance program and advises law enforcement

Registration is required for each
vehicle and is paid to the
Treasurer on or before June 5 of each year.
