Comprehensive
Rezoning
Adopted February
20, 2007
On
February 20, 2007, the Board of Supervisors
adopted Ordinance No. 06-28(R)
amending the York County Zoning Map by reclassifying over 400
parcels – or portions of parcels – in accordance with the updated
Comprehensive Plan adopted
in December 2005. This “comprehensive rezoning” was sponsored by the
Board of Supervisors on June 6, 2006, and subsequently reviewed by
the Planning Commission, which held two public hearings and two
special work sessions. In the course of its review of the proposed
rezonings and comments from the public, the Commission recommended
various changes to the original proposal. In the end, following a
public hearing and a work session, the Board of Supervisors adopted
the comprehensive rezoning as recommended by the Planning
Commission.
