Engineering Camp
General Information.
York County
Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of summer camps.
There will be a maximum of
20 participants enrolled in each camp.
All camps will be coordinated by John Hammons and held in the technology
Education Lab Room 412 at York High School.
Model Rocketry Beginner - #119091A1
This camp will
introduce the basics of model rocketry. All campers will learn the basics of
how a model rocket works and they will design, build (from kits and from
scratch), and launch their own model rockets.

Model Rocketry Advance

In this advanced session, campers will go into more depth ion
the mathematics and physics associated with space flight. Participants
will also build (from kits) an intermediate and advance model rocket.

Engineering Camp I - #119091A3
All
campers will learn the basics of how engineering principles are used to solve
any problem. They will apply the engineering design process to design, build,
and test their own mousetrap-powered racer car, solar-powered racer car, and
super capacitor dragster.

Robotics I - #119091A5
Campers will be introduced to the basics of robotics and it's
associated math and engineering. All participants will build (form kits)
their own robot and perform various engineering activities related to their
robot's design. Campers will be assigned a beginner, intermediate, or
advances level robot, to construct and perform activities based on their grade
level. Grades 2 and 3 Beginner; grades 4 and 5 Intermediate; and grades 6
- 8 Advanced.
