Meeting Convened. An Adjourned Meeting of the York County Board
of Supervisors was called to order at 6:14 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2003,
in the Nile Room, Nick’s Seafood Pavilion, by Chairman James S. Burgett.
Attendance. The following members of the Board of Supervisors
were present: Sheila S. Noll, Donald E. Wiggins, James S. Burgett, and
Thomas G. Shepperd.
Walter C. Zaremba was absent.
Also in attendance were James O.
McReynolds, County Administrator; and James E. Barnett, County Attorney.
JOINT MEETING WITH THE YORK TOWN
TRUSTEES
York
Town Trustees Present: J. Bryce Hollingsworth, Chairman; Edith M.
Elliott, Vice Chairman; Charles B. Thomas; Gary A. Freeman; and Paul W.
Crockett.
After dinner, Chairman Burgett
spoke of the excellent relationship the Trustees and the Board of
Supervisors has had over the years, stating this particular group of
Trustees had been delightful to work with.
Mrs. Noll expressed her agreement with Chairman Burgett, stating
she appreciated the fact that each Trustee was very involved in Yorktown
and the historical area, and always had its best interest at heart.
Mrs. Noll thanked each of them for their service to Yorktown.
Mr. Hollingsworth noted that the Trustees have a long history in
the community, and it is sad to see 312 years come to an end. He stated
the Trustees are confident that their real estate assets will be looked
after with equal care and concern that they had displayed and that the
waterfront district will be the star for York County. Mr. Hollingsworth
thanked the Board for its kind invitation to dinner and the fellowship.
Meeting Adjourned. At 8:20 p.m. Chairman Burgett declared
the meeting adjourned sine die.
