Adjourned Meeting
February 19, 2002
6:00 p.m.
Meeting Convened. An Adjourned Meeting of the York County Board of
Supervisors was called to order at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2002,
in the Kiva, York High School, by Chairman Donald E. Wiggins.
Attendance. The following members of the Board of Supervisors were
present: Walter C. Zaremba, Sheila S. Noll, Donald E. Wiggins, James S.
Burgett, and Thomas G. Shepperd.
Also in attendance were James O. McReynolds, County Administrator; and
James E. Barnett, County Attorney.
JOINT MEETING WITH THE YORK COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD
School Board Members Present: R. Page Minter, Chairman; Barbara S.
Haywood, Vice Chairman; Don Felling; Mark A. Medford; Barrent M. Henry.
Also present was Dr. Steven R. Staples, Superintendent of Schools;
Richard M. Hixson, Deputy Superintendent of Operations; Dr. Valerie A.
Taylor, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction; and Dennis Jarrett,
Director of Finance.
PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2003 SCHOOLS OPERATING BUDGET
During a dinner meeting, the Board of Supervisors received a
presentation from Dr. Staples concerning the schools' FY2003 budget.
Following the presentation, there was discussion among the two boards
concerning the state's support for the School Division and how that might
impact the schools' budget.
Meeting Adjourned. At 6:30 p.m. Chairman Wiggins declared the meeting
adjourned sine die.
