Glass Bottles and Jars - clear, brown, and green only
Metal Cans - aluminum, steel, bimetal, and tin cans (No paint cans or aerosol cans)
Aluminum Foil Products
HDPE (#2 plastic containers only; no automotive product containers or pesticide containers)
PET (#1 plastic containers only)
Plastic bottles are defined as having a narrower neck, a pour spout, and a screw top.
All recyclable materials shall be substantially clean, dry, and free from contamination.
In addition to the items listed above, the following items may be brought to the Waste Management Center’s Recycling Drop-off Facility
Automotive Products: Motor Oil;
Aviation Products: Turbine Engine Oil
General Industrial Products: Hydraulic Oil; Gear Oil; Fuel Oil (#2, #4 and #6 only)
Residents may bring up to 5 gallons of the above listed products per visit.
Antifreeze should not be mixed in the same container as other products.  There are separate containers at the drop-off site.  

Garbage Collection

  • York County’s weekly garbage collection service is available to all York County residents and to some eligible trailer homes, town-homes and/or small businesses. 
  • Residents/businesses who subscribe to the County’s curbside collection service may bring household waste/garbage/construction debris to the Waste Management Center’s Transfer Station and citizen drop-off center free of charge. 
  • The center is located at 145 Goodwin Neck Road, Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Office Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
  • Residents from other localities and County residents who do not subscribe to the County’s curbside collection program may also bring materials to the facility, however a charge will apply.
  • Both Basic and Low generator service provides for the collection of bulky materials (furniture and/or appliances) and unlimited materials to the Transfer Station.
