YORK COUNTY'S NEW SPORTS COMPLEX GOES GREEN: In an effort to help build York County as a "Clean and Green" municipality, permanent recycling containers were recently distributed throughout the new Sports Complex.  Read more

NEW QUARTER PARK PROJECT: Become a citizen scientist for New Quarter Park Project
 
E-STUB PROGRAM: The Payroll office is pleased to announce that we are joining the County’s Go Green effort!   Effective with pay date January 23rd, 2009, direct deposit statements will not be printed and distributed to employees.  Instead, employees can view their pay and deduction information through EPAYROLL, the County’s secure, web-based payroll access information system. 
 
COUNTY GOES GREEN WITH FIRST HYBRID: The new Hybrid is currently assigned to the county's General Services Department.
 
NATURAL RESOURCES PRESERVATION: Sections 17-35 and 17-36 of York County Code include the protection of land, buildings, plants, and public waters.
 
MOSQUITO CONTROL:  York County relies less on pesticides to control mosquitoes and more on mosquito-eating fish.
 
RIVERWALK LANDING EARNS CLEAN MARINA STATUS:  By completing the stringent requirements of the voluntary Virginia Clean Marina Program, Riverwalk Landing becomes one of 55 marinas statewide to receive the designation that marks the facility as an environmental steward.
