SCHOOLSYork County has 6 high schools; 3 of them have environmentally related clubs.  Many of the County’s elementary schools have school gardens where students can experience growing and eating fresh produce.

 

York High and Grafton High have Green Teams, which are responsible for coordinating recycling activities at the school.

 

 In 2008, the Grafton High Green Team received an award for “Excellent Achievement in Environmental Programs” from York County, James City County and the City of Williamsburg.

 

Tabb High has Club Earth and Tabb Middle School also has an Earth Club.

 

Students and volunteers at Mount Vernon Elementary have constructed "Mustang Meadows".
