Abstract:
The planimetric dataset includes 10 different map layers digitized directly from York County's orthophotography. The road edge layer represents the edge of the paved area for all roads. The layer was originally digitized from the 1:1200 scale mylar orthophotography flown in February 1990. It was updated in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2002, and 2005 with digital orthophotos using heads-up digitizing. The road edge layer will be updated as new digital imagery is acquired.
Purpose:
Provide the edge of paved areas of all roads for mapping and analysis, including impervious surface analysis
Supplemental_Information:
Road edges were originally digitized from the 1:1200 scale mylar orthophotography flown in 1990. Original digitizing took place between 10/1992 and 12/1994 as part of the planimetric digitizing project.
