Abstract:
The planimetric dataset includes 10 different map layers digitized directly from York County's orthophotography. The pads layer represents parking lots and paved areas greater than 10 feet wide. This includes blacktop, concrete, and gravel lots. The layer was originally digitized from the 1:1200 scale mylar orthophotography flown in February 1990. It was updated in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2002, and 2005 with digital orthophotos using heads-up digitizing. The pads layer will be updated as new digital imagery is acquired.
Purpose:
Provide outlines of parking lots and other hard surfaces not included in the road edge layer for mapping and analysis, including impervious surface analysis.
Supplemental_Information:
Pads were originally digitized from the 1:1200 scale mylar orthophotography flown in 1990. Original digitizing took place between 10/1992 and 12/1994 as part of the planimetric digitizing project.
