The fifth fire station built in York County, the "Skimino Station" (Lightfoot) was built by the county and opened in July of 1991, as part of phase two of the 1986 York County Fire and
Rescue Bond Referendum.

Fire Station Five/Skimino-Lightfoot areas of the county - Generally a portion of the county west of Camp Peary to the James City County line. This station also provides primary back
up response to the Bruton Fire Station and areas of James City County.
