Tabb Lakes Community Receives Sign Officially

Denoting It As A CERT Neighborhood

Yorktown, March 29 -- The community of Tabb Lakes, recently recognized by the York County Board of Supervisors as the first York County neighborhood to be officially designated as a Citizen’s Emergency Response Team (CERT) Neighborhood, received and dedicated a new sign March 25, 2006 noting this achievement. York County District 2 Board of Supervisors member Sheila Noll (pictured to the immediate right of the sign) and York County’s Director of Fire and Life Safety, Fire Chief Stephen P. Kopczynski (far right),  made the formal presentation to the  members of the Tabb Lakes Homeowners Association who took the CERT training and to representatives of the Homeowners Association Board of Directors. The designation was earned by the Tabb Lakes neighborhood because of its commitment to disaster preparedness and for meeting the requirements of the CERT Neighborhood Recognition Program which, among other things, includes at least 10 residents that have completed the County CERT Program and the development of a neighborhood disaster plan.
