Position available in the York-Poquoson Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Performs professional work representing the County and City in court.
Prepares and prosecutes cases in all courts, including the more complex
felony cases. Provides legal advice to law enforcement personnel regarding

work for the Crossroads Community Youth Home, Williamsburg. Responsible for

Salary: $28,328. Positions available in the Emergency
Communications (911) Center. Must be willing to work rotating shifts,
including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Previous experience in
public safety dispatching is desired but not required. Must reside within a
sixty-minute response time from York County. Requires high school graduate

qualifications. Leads and supervises a staff of engineers and
trades personnel engaged in the operation of the County’s stormwater
infrastructure and design and construction of the County’s stormwater
capital projects. Serves as the Program Administrator for the County’s
Erosion and Sediment Control Program. Responsible for Management of the MS4
Virginia Pollution Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) permitting program
and environmental programs such as the Erosion and Sediment Control,
Chesapeake Bay Protection Act, Watershed Management and Protection, and
Wetlands. Provides priority and direct support to the Mosquito Control
Division in eliminating mosquito breeding areas. Provides direct support to
Waste Management’s leaf collection program. Interfaces with the public
regarding the County’s stormwater program. Work is performed under general

Requires bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and 5 years
of experience in civil engineering, to include at least 3 years of project
management experience, and some design and field experience, or a related
field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must
possess a Virginia Professional Engineer license or eligible for licensing
by comity in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prefer certification as a
Program Administrator for Erosion and Sediment Control through the
Commonwealth of Virginia.

SUBSTITUTE INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE
$6.50 per hour; no benefits. Part-time on-call positions available in a
federally funded Head Start program. Requires graduation from high school
or equivalent. Under direct supervision, performs para-professional
educational work in assisting Teachers in providing developmental services
to children enrolled in the County’s Head Start program. Work involves
providing assistance in planning and carrying out a daily program with the
goal of meeting the physical and developmental needs of individual members
of an assigned group of young children. Assists with the supervision and
care of children, meal serving and clean-up.
