RESIDENTIAL COOKING OIL DROP-OFF RECYCLING

Did you know that cooking oil and grease are recyclable and should not be discarded down the drain, NOR should they be disposed of in landfills in liquid form?  Dumping grease, fats, and oil can clog sewer lines, causing sewage back-ups and flooding. Sewage back-ups can damage personal and public property. In addition, free flowing liquids should NEVER be placed in a landfill.

  • York County has added cooking oil recycling
  • Residents only (no commercial establishments) may now bring up to five gallons per visit
  • Valley Proteins will collect the used oil for use in the production of protein meals, animal feed and a substitute fuel.

For more information on additional services available and for special bulk collections, call the Waste Management Center at 890-3780.  For requests or complaints, use the EDS Online Customer Service System by clicking >HERE<
