The Division of Parks and Recreation offers year-round programs for youth and adults. Available facilities include 30 baseball/softball fields, an indoor batting cage and sports complex, 13 soccer/football fields, 32 tennis courts and outdoor basketball courts, three public boat landings, a 12-acre beach/picnic area on the York River, 2 neighborhood park sites, three smaller parks totaling 67 acres, and the newly renovated 545-acre New Quarter Park. Health Department services include an immunization clinic, general medical, pediatrics, dental, sanitarians, food handlers permits, public health, TB control, pest control and Medicaid. Ambulance service is available.

Hospitals:

  • Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, located in upper York County and opened in 2006, has 145 beds and features the latest healthcare technologies, serving the region with the life-saving capabilities of an ultra-modern medical center.
