Detention/Electronic Monitoring
Outreach
Detention/Electronic Monitor programs provide intensive supervision to
adolescents who might be held in another detention program while awaiting
adjudication and/or disposition by the Judge of the Juvenile and
Domestic Relations District Court.
The goals of the program are to insure
the youths availability for court and to prevent further delinquency
pending disposition for charges currently before the court. This is
accomplished through the provision of direct as well as indirect
supervision. The Electronic Monitor portion of the program provides the
opportunity for 24 hour direct supervision to be put in place. Outreach
Detention care refers to the small minority of youths that require less
restrictive supervision.
Admission
Any youth designated as a
candidate by the Court, provided he or she resides within the
participating localities and can reside in his/her, or a surrogate, home
is eligible for both the Outreach Detention/ Electronic Monitoring
program.
