Division of Juvenile Services
Community Supervision
The Community
Supervision Program is designed to provide home-based family-centered
intervention for juvenile delinquents who are at risk of being placed out of
their home and community. The purpose of this intensive home-based service is to
provide a realistic alternative to residential placement such as a detention
facility, learning center, or youth shelter.
It is the
program’s belief that working with the entire family unit is the best way of
solving the problems of its member and that a crisis will often provide the
motivation and opportunity for the family to accept help and learn new patterns
of behavior. By providing short term, intensive family counseling in the home,
the counselors can address the needs and issues facing the juvenile and their
families.
Admission
Any youth designated as a
candidate by the Court, and /or Probation Department, provided they reside
within the participating localities can be referred to the Community Supervision
Program.
