Sec. 15-45.
Presumption in prosecutions for parking violations.
In any prosecution charging that a
vehicle has been parked in violation of any provisions of this Code or other ordinance of
the county, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint, summons, parking ticket
citation or warrant was parked in violation of such provision, together with proof that
the defendant was at the time of such parking, the registered owner of the vehicle, as
required by chapter 6 (section 46.2-600 et seq.), title 46.2, Code of Virginia, shall
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that such registered owner of the vehicle
was the person who parked the vehicle at the place where, and for the time during which,
such violation occurred. |
