DIVISION 2. LICENSE
Sec. 4-57.
Disposition of funds.
(a) Unless otherwise provided by
ordinance of the board of supervisors, the treasurer shall deposit all money
collected by him for dog license taxes in the general fund for the purposes
set out below. Such funds shall be used for the following purposes:
(1) The salary and expenses of the animal
control officer and necessary staff;
(2) The care and maintenance of a dog
pound;
(3) The maintenance of a rabies control
program;
(4) Payments as a bounty to any person
neutering or spaying a dog up to the amount
of one (1) year of the license fee set forth in section 4-47 of this
article; and
(5) Payments for compensation as provided
in section 4-38(d) of this article.
(6) Efforts to promote sterilization of
dogs and cats.
(b) Any part or all of any surplus
remaining in such account on December 31 of any year may be transferred by
the board of supervisors into the general fund of the county.
