2007 Teen Summer Reading Program

Lost in Time Summer Reading Program for teens at your York County Public LibraryLost . . . in Time is the theme for the Library's 2007 Teen Summer Reading Program for rising 6th - 12th graders.  The program runs from June 25 through August 3.  Teens will receive the "Rules for Play" and a program card to record their achievements in the summer reading program.  There are 24 tasks to accomplish on the card along with an option to read books.  (See tasks listed on program card below.)  Participants will receive a prize each week they complete three or more tasks and are then eligible to enter a weekly drawing for a larger prize.  A book is awarded for completing four of the six weeks of the program.

Several teen activities will be offered this summer at the Tabb Library.  Monday Movies will be shown on July 2 at 6:00 PM, July 16 at 6:30 PM, and July 30 at 6:30 PM.  Teen Crafts are on the schedule at 10:30 AM on Fridays from June 29 through July 27.  Tuesdays will bring a variety of activities from karaoke to drumming to the library.  Check out the complete schedule.

Registration begins Monday, June 18, at 10:00 AM at the Tabb and Yorktown Libraries.  All programs are free and open to everyone.  For more information, contact the Youth Services department at (757) 890-5110.  The summer reading program is sponsored by the generous support of the Friends of the York County Public Library.
