All cities and counties in Virginia have a personal property tax. York County taxes vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, motor homes), camping trailers, boats, boat trailers, utility trailers, recreational vehicles, mobile homes and business furniture, equipment, machinery and tools. You may be subject to a prorated Personal Property Tax on your property if you purchase or sell or move into or out of York County during the year. Tax bills are due annually, June 25 and December 5.
"DMV 2 GO" Mobile Unit to Visit Yorktown Library
The Commissioner of the Revenue is pleased to announce her partnership with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) in bringing "DMV 2 Go" to York County residents.
"DMV 2 Go" is a full-service mobile customer service center that comes to you at convenient locations and conducts any DMV transaction that can be done at your local DMV office to include applying for or renewing your ID card or driver's license, applying for a Veteran ID card, obtaining a copy of your driving record, obtaining vehicle titles, license plates, decals, transcripts, ordering disabled parking placards or plates, obtaining fishing and hunting licenses, updating your address on your DMV record and/or voter registration card and much more!
"DMV 2 Go" has scheduled visits to the Yorktown Library, located at 8500 George Washington Memorial Highway, on the third Tuesday of every other month beginning Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 9am to 4pm. For more information or for a complete schedule, please visit DMV's website.
