Safety Town is a government and community partnership designed to teach young children various aspects of life safety. Through the use of age-appropriate, hands-on interactive experiences, children enjoy learning lifesaving behaviors and practices that can help reduce the chance of serious injury.
Safety Town provides a safe and interesting learning environment that is set up to simulate an actual town. The Safety Town site features mock buildings, sidewalks and streets, and is used as a practice area for the safety lessons.
During the summer of 2013, York County's Safety Town program will host its 19th season. Two hundred children attend Safety Town each summer.
