York County recognizes the need for trained citizens that can assist and support themselves, their family and/or their neighborhood during a disaster (or the imminent threat of disaster) and immediately following a disaster within York County. In an effort to promote this level of preparedness and volunteerism, the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety has developed the York County CERT training program. Modeled after the National Citizen Corps CERT Training Program, York County's program follows the National Curriculum while offering additional courses that are specific to our topography, demographic, and hazards.

The York County CERT Training program is an interactive program that promotes emergency preparedness at the individual, family and neighborhood level. The program helps citizens develop skills that may benefit them personally, their family and potentially their neighborhood before, during, and when recovering from a major emergency or disaster, while promoting neighborhood self-sufficiency until emergency services can arrive.

If you are interested in attending an upcoming CERT training program, complete the CERT Particpant Application and the CERT Particpant Memorandum of Understanding and mail both documents to:
