Walt Latham, York County’s Voter Registrar since July 2007, is responsible for maintaining the county’s list of registered voters and assisting the Electoral Board with elections. Along with his staff, Mr. Latham works with the Electoral Board to ensure the integrity of the election process in York County.
Mr. Latham received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government, Master of Public Policy degree, and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from William and Mary. While earning his J.D. he served on the staff of the William and Mary Law Review. In 2003 he was admitted to practice law in Virginia’s state courts and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Latham previously served in York County as an assistant registrar and as an officer of election. As Voter Registrar, he has served as a regional director, second vice president, and first vice president for the Voter Registrars Association of Virginia. Prior to his work in York County, Mr. Latham was employed by the National Center for State Courts and served as an Assistant Public Defender in Hampton.
