All cities and counties in Virginia have a personal property tax. York County taxes vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, motor homes), camping trailers, boats, boat trailers, utility trailers, recreational vehicles, mobile homes and business furniture, equipment, machinery and tools. You may be subject to a prorated Personal Property Tax on a vehicle if you purchase or sell or move into or out of York County during the year. Tax bills are due annually, June 25 and December 5.
"DMV Connect" Mobile Unit to Visit Yorktown Library
The Commissioner of the Revenue is pleased to announce her partnership with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) in bringing DMV mobile operations to York County residents.
DMV currently offers two types of mobile operations. "DMV 2 Go" is a full-service mobile customer service center that comes to you at convenient locations and conducts any DMV transaction that can be done at your local DMV office to include applying for or renewing your ID card or driver's license, applying for a Veteran ID card, obtaining a copy of your driving record, obtaining vehicle titles, license plates, decals, transcripts, ordering disabled parking placards or plates, obtaining fishing and hunting licenses, updating your address on your DMV record and/or voter registration card and much more! "DMV Connect" is an outreach program in which a Connect team visits convenient locations with a suitcase containing everything they need to operate. During a "DMV Connect" visit, most types of DMV transactions can be conducted, with the exception of vital records and testing.
"DMV Connect" has scheduled visits to the Yorktown Library, located at 8500 George Washington Memorial Highway from 9am to 1pm, on the following 2017 dates: April 19, 2017, June 21, 2017, and August 16, 2017. For more information or for a complete schedule, please visit DMV's website. Due to mechanical issues, the "DMV 2 Go" visit scheduled for January 25, 2017 has been canceled.
