Come to New Quarter Park this Weekend
Don't miss Archaeology Dig Days and the chance to work with professional archaeologist from the Fairfield Foundation this Thursday and Friday, September 14-15! Email Fairfield@FairfieldFoundation.org to sign up for the morning (9-12) or afternoon (1-4) session (only 10 volunteers per session). Most of the Friday slots are filled, so let's fill up the Thursday calendar too. I know, I know, there might be a thundershower . . . but the forecasters say there is a 60% chance of sun! So come out and help use learn more about the Armistead manor and its dependencies and the white and enslaved people who lived there through the artifacts they left behind.
Come to the park on Saturday to participate in one of two events. There is a Disc Golf Tournament (so the course will be closed for regular play) and BYOK! (Bring Your Own Kayak . . . or rent one from Bay County Kayaking). It should be a beautiful day with temperatures in the low 80's and there is an 80% chance of sun. See the calendar below for information about who to contact for more information and how to register.
