Citizen Committees |
|
The five-year review and update of
the County Comprehensive Plan began in July 2004 and ended December 6, 2005. The participation of County citizens
was
a vital part of the process, and the
Board of Supervisors and
Planning
Commission formed two citizen committees to help with this endeavor. |

Steering Committee |

The Comprehensive Plan Review
Steering Committee
oversaw the project, holding a total of 24 meetings between July 2004 and
July 2005 and devoting a cumulative total of over 500 volunteer hours to
this project. At the conclusion of its year long task, the Steering
Committee developed a draft updated plan that was forwarded to the
Planning Commission and
for consideration and ultimately, with revisions, to the
Board of Supervisors. |

Communications and Outreach Group |
|
The Community and Outreach Group
(COG) functioned as a team of neighborhood and organization liaisons, each serving
as a conduit of information between the staff and the Steering Committee and
his or her neighbors or organization. Members assisted with planning,
organizing, and publicizing the Neighborhood Open Houses on the Comprehensive Plan,
as well as soliciting ideas and comments on the Plan from their
organizations and forwarding them to the staff and the Steering Committee. |
